These terms govern your use of realreviews.net.au ("Real Reviews", "we", "us"). By using the site — browsing, creating an account, or posting a review — you agree to them.

1. What Real Reviews is

Real Reviews is a platform for consumers to share genuine experiences with businesses, products and services in Australia. Reviews are the opinions of their authors, not ours. We operate a dual-rating system in which verified customer reviews ("Real" reviews) are scored separately from unverified reviews.

2. Your account

• You must provide accurate information when registering and keep your login details secure.
• You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
• One person, one account. Accounts created to manipulate ratings will be removed.

3. Reviews and other content you post

• You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce and distribute that content on and in connection with the platform.
• You are responsible for what you write. Post only truthful accounts of your own genuine experiences, in line with our Posting Guidelines.
• You can withdraw or unpublish your own reviews at any time from your account.

4. Moderation, verification and classification

• All reviews are moderated before publication. We may decline, remove, or reclassify any review that breaches these terms or our Posting Guidelines.
• Classification of a review as "Real" is at our discretion, based on identity verification and evidence of a genuine transaction. We may request additional evidence.
• Ratings are computed automatically from published reviews. We do not manually adjust scores.

5. Rules for businesses

• Businesses cannot pay to remove, suppress or alter reviews or ratings. No commercial relationship with us affects scores, rankings or moderation decisions.
• Businesses and their staff must not review their own business or their competitors.
• Businesses may invite customers to review them but must not offer incentives contingent on a positive review.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

• post content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, or that contains another person's private information;
• post fake, paid-for, AI-fabricated or otherwise inauthentic reviews;
• interfere with the operation of the platform, scrape it at scale, or attempt to circumvent verification or moderation.

7. Intellectual property

The platform, its design and its editorial content are owned by us or our licensors. Third-party business names, logos and trademarks displayed on listings remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only — their appearance does not imply affiliation with or endorsement of Real Reviews.

8. Disclaimers and liability

• Reviews reflect individual experiences and opinions. We do not verify every claim made in a review and make no warranty as to the accuracy of user content.
• Ratings are statistical summaries of published reviews, not endorsements or professional advice.
• Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the platform, and our total liability is limited to the resupply of the relevant service.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, and remove content that breaches them, at our discretion. You may close your account at any time.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian courts.
